The Growing Challenge of GI Cancers
The rising incidence of gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, as reported by the Indian Council of Medical Research's National Centre for Disease Informatics and Research in 2022, serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for collaborative action in cancer prevention and management. From cancers of the esophagus and stomach to those of the gallbladder, rectum, and pancreas, GI cancers present a formidable health challenge in India, calling for immediate and sustained interventions.
Gopalkrishna Charitable Trust (GKCT)
At Gopalkrishna Charitable Trust (GKCT), we are deeply committed to empowering communities through cancer awareness, enhancing medical expertise, and strengthening healthcare infrastructure. Our focus on integrating preventive care into primary healthcare systems reflects our dedication to a non-vertical, inclusive model that prioritizes early detection, patient education, and comprehensive support. With a vision of achieving universal health coverage, we strive to build resilient healthcare networks that can effectively tackle GI cancers.
To further this mission, GKCT is proud to host the “9th International Annual Review on Gastrointestinal Cancer Update,” scheduled for August 8th and 9th, 2026 at Hotel Taj Santacruz, Mumbai. This esteemed event will bring together leading experts to present and discuss the most impactful scientific advancements from prominent GI conferences and peer-reviewed journals of the past year. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the latest research, innovative therapies, and evidence-based practices in the field of GI oncology.
We invite you to join us in this collaborative effort to advance cancer care and improve patient outcomes. Your participation will contribute to our shared goal of advancing gastrointestinal oncology.
